Calum Scott gravitates towards hope on brand new single Lighthouse

With the release of his latest single ‘Lighthouse’ multi-platinum-selling recording artist Calum Scott makes a conscious effort to hold onto hope.

Co-written by the singer alongside Martin, Housley, Corey Sanders (James Arthur, The Chainsmokers), and longtime collaborator Jon “MAGS” Maguire, the emotionally charged track finds the Yorkshire native  wrestle with feelings of isolation and loss as he longs to be reunited with loved ones at home.

“‘Lighthouse’ is a story about light in the darkness, the hope on the horizon, even if it’s in the distance and almost out of view it reminds you of what’s important and what makes you feel safe,” Scott says of the uplifting song via a press release.

“It was written at a time when I was missing home and just getting a FaceTime or a text can be that lighthouse for me. I really pushed my limits to record the vocals on this, tried to sing with as much passion and raw emotion as I could – the production really helped with that and makes the story feel monstrous and powerful and will fill the stadiums I’m about to sing at whilst supporting Ed Sheeran!”

Arriving hot on the heels of a new duet version of his 2023 hit ‘At Your Worst’ with German recording artist Zoe West, ‘Lighthouse’ serves as Calum Scott’s first new musical release of the year.

Prior to the success of ‘At Your Worst’, Scott made major waves in the dance charts with his epic collaboration with Jax Jones ‘Whistle’ – which to date has amassed over 120million streams on Spotify.

In March the 2023 CelebMix Award nominee will take to the stage at London’s Eventim Apollo to perform a one-off headline show entitled, The Songbook So Far.

In what promises to be a celebration of the acclaimed singers decade long career, fans can expect to see Calum perform all of his hits so far, including “Dancing On My Own”, “You Are The Reason”, “Biblical” and “If You Ever Change Your Mind”.

Commenting on the show, Scott says: “Since I brought my ‘Bridges World Tour’ to London late last year at the iconic Palladium, I have been pining to be back! I have done a few special shows in London, my last one in 2018 at Union Chapel and that really was unique for me, but I have really grown as a man and as an artist in those five years. A lot has changed for me and that is directly reflected in my music, my performances but most importantly, my shows. I’m not going to give anything away; you’ll have to come see ‘The Songbook So Far’ for yourself – you won’t regret it!”
