Eddie Fisher was an American singer and actor. He was the most successful pop singles artist of the first half of the 1950s.
Eddie was the son of Gitte Kathrine “Kate” (Minicker/Minocker/Winokur) and Joseph D. Tisch/Fisher, who were Jewish emigrants, from Ukraine/Russia. His mother was born in Yampil’ Vinnyts’ka.
Eddie was married to Betty Lin, until her death. He had four children: actress and writer Carrie Fisher and filmmaker Todd Fisher, with his former wife, singer, actress, and humanitarian Debbie Reynolds; and actresses Joely Fisher and Tricia Leigh Fisher, with his former wife, singer and actress Connie Stevens. He was the grandfather of actress Billie Lourd.
