INDIAN TRAIL, N.C. — An Indian Trail woman is in custody after allegedly shooting shooting her husband multiple times in their home on Chandler Forest Court.

Union County deputies said they received a 911 call from a man who said his neighbor had come to his home with multiple gunshot wounds and needed help immediately.

At the scene, deputies said they found that the victim had been shot multiple times in different parts of his body. The man was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.

An investigation revealed that the man had been shot by his wife, Lavonda M. Earley, deputies said.

Officials said Earley left the home after the shooting and has refused to communicate with investigators.

Shortly before 6 p.m. Wednesday, deputies said Earley had been taken into custody. She is being charged with attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intention to kill or inflict serious injury.
