WATCH: Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoas helmet cam reveals the everyday on-field hardships of an NFL q

The star quarterback of the Miami Dolphins, Tua Tagovailoa, filmed the team’s movements and practices at the organized team’s activities (OTAs) and training camps. The QB had a hidden camera placed on his helmet, and through this camera, he recorded some of the glimpses of the practice sessions. Those glimpses provided his teammates and coaching staff with a fantastic point of view (POV).

The visuals came out during the Dolphins’ preseason encounter with the Jacksonville Jaguars and revealed the daily hardships that a quarterback has to go through. To prevent major injuries (especially on the head), a QB has to take special caution even during the training period.

Last season Tagovailoa suffered major injuries due to multiple concussions. Those concussions compelled him to miss major games, especially the game against the Buffalo Bills in the playoffs. Hence, this season, he is being very cautious to prevent those. During the offseason, he learned jiu-jitsu to fall properly if he is being hit.

Last season, he played just 13 games. Injuries did not allow him to play more than that. However, the quarterback made his mark in those 13 games. He completed his season with a passer rating of 105.5 with 3,548 yards, 25 touchdowns, and eight interceptions.

The quarterback became so depressed after going through major concussions last season that he almost thought to retire from professional football. Speaking with the media, he revealed, “I considered it for a time, having sat down with my family, having sat down with my wife, and having those conversations.”

“But, really, it would be hard for me to walk away from this game with how old I am, with my son. I always dreamed of playing as long as I could to where my son knew exactly what he was watching his dad do,” he added.

How are the Miami Dolphins gearing up for the upcoming NFL season?

The Dolphins played three games in their preseason games. However, their journey in the preseason did not go well. They lost their first game against the Atlanta Falcons by 19-3. In their last game, the Jacksonville Jaguars were in the lead by 31-18, until the game was suspended following an injury to Miami’s Daewood Davis. The team only managed to win against the Houston Texans by 28-3.

With the poor performance in the preseason, the team will be more focused on having a good start in the upcoming NFL season. Last season they came second in the AFC East division and lost in the Wild Card round against Bills.
